Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the Telugu edition of A Tale of Two States in Hyderabad on Sunday. The book was written by journalist I. Venkat Rao and translated into Telugu by N. Anuradha. It explores the merger and bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, a key chapter in India’s federal history. The book also highlights the governance periods of 22 chief ministers from both states.
Naidu said the book will be useful for researchers, students, and future generations to understand how political decisions shaped the histories of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He praised the author and translator for their work in making the complex history accessible in Telugu. The event was held at Naidu’s residence in Hyderabad, underlining the shared cultural and political ties between the two Telugu-speaking states.
The book covers key moments in the states’ histories, including constitutional changes, political leadership, and social impacts of state division. Naidu highlighted that learning from past decisions helps leaders and citizens understand the challenges and opportunities of governance and federal relations. A Tale of Two States aims to spark interest and discussion on how regional identities and state policies evolved over time.
