Aave v3, one of the most widely used DeFi lending protocols, is set to go live on X Layer, an Ethereum Layer 2 network developed and incubated by OKX, according to an official announcement made on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The launch is expected in the coming weeks and marks a major expansion of Aave’s multi-chain strategy.
By integrating with X Layer, Aave v3 will benefit from low transaction fees, high throughput, and enhanced scalability, making decentralized lending more accessible to users and developers alike. X Layer, built using ZK-rollup technology, offers faster finality and security backed by Ethereum while optimizing costs—key advantages for capital-efficient DeFi operations.
This deployment will allow users on X Layer to access Aave’s core DeFi services, including lending, borrowing, and earning yield on crypto assets, in a faster and cheaper environment. It also reinforces Aave’s mission to scale DeFi across emerging Layer 2 ecosystems.
With the integration, Aave v3 on X Layer is poised to attract new liquidity, expand the protocol’s user base, and strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving Ethereum Layer 2 DeFi landscape.
