AMD, Cisco, and Saudi-backed AI firm Humain have announced a major joint venture to build state-of-the-art AI data centres in Saudi Arabia. The first development will be a 100 megawatt (MW) facility, entirely contracted to generative video startup Luma AI, making Luma the venture’s inaugural customer.
In this partnership, AMD will provide its powerful MI450 AI chips, while Cisco will supply critical networking and infrastructure. Construction is slated to begin in 2026, and the centre will run fully on renewable energy.
Humain will lead the project, with AMD and Cisco taking minority stakes and sharing both the profits and risks. The long-term goal is massive — the joint venture aims to scale up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of AI infrastructure by 2030.
This collaboration is framed as part of Saudi Arabia’s vision to become a global hub for AI innovation. By combining Humain’s data-centre know-how, AMD’s advanced AI compute, and Cisco’s networking strength, the companies are creating a powerful, open AI ecosystem that’s designed for global scale.
