The Andhra Pradesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) has reportedly issued a directive requiring all Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to conduct weekly reviews of pending cases. The move is aimed at enhancing case resolution efficiency, strengthening law enforcement oversight, and ensuring greater police accountability. Under this measure, DSPs across the state will submit structured updates to their divisional superintendents every week.

This systemic initiative is designed to minimize investigative delays, promote timely case closure, and elevate public confidence in the police force. Regular review sessions are expected to identify resource gaps, streamline workflows, and reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The policy aligns with broader goals of improving judicial responsiveness and effective crime management across Andhra Pradesh. Senior law enforcement officials view this directive as a proactive step in boosting internal monitoring mechanisms and reinforcing disciplinary oversight.

Together with other reforms aimed at modern policing, the weekly case review process may lead to improved investigative outcomes, stronger legal compliance, and elevated service delivery standards for citizens.
