Ahead of Diwali 2025, the Andhra Pradesh government under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced a set of generous benefits for its government staff. The key highlight is the disbursement of pending dearness allowance (DA) payments in two parts: ₹105 crore due in November and an equal amount in January.

The state also pledged to clear backlog DA claims, signalling a clearing of long‑standing dues. In addition, the government has approved promotions for employees of the state road transport corporation (RTC) and expanded childcare leave, allowing eligible staff to use up to 180 days of leave until retirement. These moves are presented as a Diwali “gift” to reward public‑sector workers for their contribution to state building and to ease financial burdens ahead of the festival.

CM Naidu emphasised that government employees are vital to the state’s development and vowed to address past delays in wage and allowance payments. With this announcement, the government aims to boost morale, reduce arrears and strengthen employee welfare just in time for the festive season.
