Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is set to inaugurate the APCRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) building in Amaravati on 13 October. The new headquarters will house administrative and planning functions to support the capital’s renewed development.
This inauguration marks a renewed focus on infrastructure in Amaravati. In recent times, Naidu has pressed for speeding up key projects, resolving technical issues, and ensuring farmers who gave land get benefits. Under his direction, CRDA officials were told to finish roads like Khaja Toll Gate and expand Karakatta Road within months.
The APCRDA building is an important symbol. It aims to centralize operations in the capital region and improve oversight of city planning. This aligns with other steps: forming a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for major projects, signing MoUs for financing, and approving large infrastructure budgets. The authority will strengthen Amaravati’s transformation into a modern, functional capital.
For citizens of Andhra, this signals that the capital project is back in motion. With central offices operating locally, coordination in urban design, infrastructure, and public services could improve. The opening of APCRDA’s building is a tangible milestone in building Amaravati’s future.
