The Andhra Pradesh government, through the APSSDC (Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation) and its overseas arm OMCAP, has entered a new partnership with 2COMS Consulting to train and send home‑care nurses from the state to Qatar. Under the Skill International programme, unemployed youth who meet eligibility criteria will undergo specialized training in home healthcare skills aligned with international standards. Once trained, they will be placed in Qatar for job opportunities in home‑care nursing.
The initiative aims to enhance the employability of nursing graduates in Andhra Pradesh, by equipping them with professional skills and certifications required for overseas employment. The scheme promises support for visa processing, recruitment formalities, language or etiquette training if needed, and assistance with placement logistics.
This move by APSSDC and OMCAP reflects growing demand in Gulf countries, including Qatar, for home healthcare professionals. It provides a pathway for nurses to work abroad, earn higher wages, improve their standard of living, and bring in foreign remittances. At the same time, it helps the state build capacity in its healthcare workforce. Youth interested in the program are encouraged to stay updated about application dates, training schedules, and documentation requirements.
