Starting September 22, 2025, Indian automakers have rolled out major festive season discounts after the government’s implementation of GST 2.0, which significantly lowers tax rates on small passenger vehicles and auto components. Automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, Toyota, and Kia have announced price cuts across various models.
Some of the most striking reductions include discounts of up to ₹30 lakh on high-end models, making premium cars more accessible this festive season. Mahindra has slashed prices by up to ₹1.56 lakh on its best-selling SUVs like the Bolero Neo and XUV 3XO, aiming to capture festive demand with value-driven offerings.
Under GST 2.0, the government has reduced the GST on auto components for cars and bikes to 18%, along with a similar rate for buses with seating up to 10 passengers, a move designed to promote affordability and encourage public transport upgrades.
These tax reforms, coupled with seasonal consumer interest, are expected to spark a strong rebound in auto sales. With competitive pricing and lowered costs, the Indian automotive sector is bracing for a high-velocity festive season surge.
