Chittoor Collector Orders Rapid Flyover Works and Warning Signboards on NH‑40 Black Spots

In a bid to strengthen road safety on NH‑40, the Chittoor District Collector has directed expedited flyover construction and mandated warning signboard installations at all accident‑prone zones. The announcement follows a coordinated road safety drive identifying multiple hazardous stretches, including black‑spots known for frequent mishaps. Under this initiative, flyover work will be accelerated to reduce traffic bottlenecks and collision risks, while prominent warning boards will alert drivers to sharp curves, steep gradients, and pedestrian crossings.

The Collector emphasized that timely implementation of these measures is vital to curtailing road fatalities and enhancing traffic management. He further instructed regular monitoring of signage effectiveness and closer involvement of National Highways Authorities and Traffic Police. This proactive approach mirrors broader district efforts—including previous identification of 25 black spots along key highways—to ensure infrastructure safety upgrades and minimize accident rates. As Chittoor progresses with these interventions, commuters can anticipate safer, more efficient travel on NH‑40.
