Delhi is gearing up to launch its first ever Celebrating India Film Festival (CIFF 2025), set to run from August 8 to 10, 2025 at the NCUI Auditorium on Siri Fort Road. Timed with India’s 78th Independence Day, this landmark film festival in Delhi will showcase a curated selection of over 50 films, including documentaries, short films, and restored cinematic classics. A major highlight is the world premiere of Aham Bharatam, a sensory tribute crafted by filmmaker Bharatbala, which captures the essence of India. Restored versions of Umrao Jaan and Kranti, along with Madhur Bhandarkar’s India Lockdown, will also be screened.
Organised by Graphisads in partnership with FTII, the Film Critics Guild, and IGNCA, CIFF 2025 promises a comprehensive cultural experience. Festival highlights include panel discussions, masterclasses, live performances by Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej, and a special tribute to the late Manoj Kumar. Expect deep dives into themes of heritage, culture, spirituality, environment, and patriotism. Additionally, classic film posters from the BD Garg collection and sessions on preserving India’s cinematic legacy will attract cinephiles and cultural enthusiasts alike. More than just a festival, CIFF 2025 aims to inspire conversations about India’s identity and creative future.
