Cloudflare is currently experiencing a broad outage that is disrupting several major online gaming platforms. Reports from users show that games like Fortnite, Counter-Strike, Apex Legends, Elden Ring, Rocket League, Halo Infinite, and Battlefield are affected. The problem appears to stem from a degradation in Cloudflare’s network infrastructure, affecting its core content delivery and security services.
Downdetector — a site that tracks outages — saw a surge in error reports, especially related to server connection failures and hosting issues. Over 8,000 Steam users alone reported issues connecting, making it one of the worst-hit services.
Cloudflare had recently faced another major global outage, which also impacted platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and ChatGPT. The company has now acknowledged the current problem and is working to restore services. Cloudflare said a fix has been implemented, but some users may continue to see higher-than-normal error rates as full recovery continues.
This incident highlights how dependent modern online services — especially real-time gaming platforms — are on cloud infrastructure providers like
