CM Naidu Announces Green Hydrogen Valley–Amaravati Plan: 1.5 MMT Hydrogen by 2029, ₹500 Cr R&D Fund

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today launched the Green Hydrogen Valley – Amaravati Declaration, unveiling Andhra Pradesh’s roadmap to become India’s premier green hydrogen hub by 2030. Anchored at the Green Hydrogen Summit‑2025, the strategy commits to establishing a 5 GW electrolyser manufacturing capacity by 2029, and achieving 1.5 MMT green hydrogen production annually. A key aim is to reduce production costs from ₹460 to ₹160–170/kg, enabled by a 25 GW renewable energy corridor.

The state will invest ₹500 crore in green hydrogen R&D, nurturing at least 50 specialised hydrogen startups and launching India’s first Integrated Green Hydrogen Skilling Ecosystem, training up to 2,000 technicians per year. The declaration also mandates local production of 60% electrolyser components by 2030 and fostering public‑private partnerships with industry and academia, including SRM University‑AP as its nodal R&D hub. With its coastline and logistics network, Andhra Pradesh aims for green hydrogen export leadership, while aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and net‑zero objectives.
