FedEx has opened a new 60,000-square-foot integrated air-cargo hub at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The facility is located at the AI-SATS Logistics Park and is designed to handle both international imports and exports. It includes automated processing systems, mechanised conveyors, telescopic belts, and a high-speed DIM machine for faster parcel dimensioning.
With bonded-customs clearance and direct connectivity to city-side and upcountry destinations, the hub aims to speed up shipping for time-sensitive industrial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing goods. According to FedEx, the hub can process thousands of packages per hour — significantly cutting down transit time and improving reliability.
The move strengthens Bengaluru’s position as a key export gateway, aligning with the airport’s broader plan to nearly double its annual cargo capacity to 1 million metric tonnes. Industry observers expect the new hub to boost regional exports, support India’s manufacturing-led growth, and enhance supply-chain efficiency for businesses of all sizes.
In short: The new FedEx air hub adds modern cargo-handling capacity to Kempegowda Airport, speeding export and import operations and reinforcing Bengaluru’s status as a global logistics centre.
