A tragic fire struck a licensed firecracker manufacturing unit in Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. Officials confirmed that six people died and two others were injured in the blaze. The unit is located in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema, and early evidence suggests the fire was caused by mishandling of explosive materials.

Local police say the factory was operating with a valid license. DSP Rahul Meena said, “We have found six bodies and are verifying their identities. The injured have been moved to hospital.” Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the spot, working to bring the fire under control and evacuate workers quickly.

Authorities now focus on uncovering the root cause. They will inspect safety systems, adherence to fire safety norms, and whether there was negligence at the unit. The incident raises concern about compliance in fire cracker factories ahead of festival seasons when production spikes. State officials have launched a full investigation and have promised to take strict action if safety lapses are found.

Relatives of victims demand justice. The state government has expressed grief and urged faster relief and support for injured workers. This fire accident in Andhra Pradesh is a grim reminder of risks in the firecracker manufacturing sector.
