Taiwan’s Foxconn has officially committed ₹15,000 crore in investments for Tamil Nadu, along with a promise to create 14,000 high‑value engineering jobs, according to state Industries Minister T. R. B. Rajaa.
To facilitate this major expansion, Guidance Tamil Nadu will set up a dedicated Foxconn Desk. This will act as a one‑stop cell to streamline approvals, ensure coordinated execution, and manage project logistics in a mission mode.
The commitment follows meetings between Foxconn’s India representative, Robert Wu, and Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, reaffirming the state’s role as a preferred hub for electronics manufacturing. The new phase is set to focus on value‑added manufacturing, R&D integration, and AI‑driven advanced technology operations, aligning with the global tech push.
This investment is described as the largest ever engineering jobs commitment for Tamil Nadu. If fully realized, it could significantly strengthen the state’s electronics ecosystem, attract further foreign capital, and boost its positioning in India’s global supply chains.
