The Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) has established a Legal Aid Services Centre specially designed to assist serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their families under the Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana. Launched on Kargil Vijay Diwas, this initiative is part of the national rollout by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to offer free legal aid in matters like pension claims, service-related grievances, property disputes, and family law issues .
The centre will operate in coordination with panel lawyers and trained paralegal volunteers, providing representation and advice at minimal or no cost. It is expected to significantly ease the legal burden on defence personnel who face challenges in accessing justice due to remote postings, complex paperwork, or relocation issues
Beneficiaries include serving personnel, veterans, and their dependents, ensuring equitable access to legal recourse across Andhra Pradesh. APSLSA coordinates this implementation at the state level, while NALSA oversees rollout through Sainik Welfare Boards in partnership with legal authorities
This targeted initiative underscores Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to veteran welfare, aligning with national efforts to provide justice and support to those who have served the nation.
