The new silent film Gandhi Talks stars Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arvind Swami and Siddharth Jadhav. Directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, the movie uses visuals and music to tell its story. It has no spoken dialogue. Instead, it relies on emotion, body language and an evocative score by A.R. Rahman to move the plot forward.
The trailer shows a colourful Bombay where four characters live very different lives. These include a successful businessman, a loving son, a clever pickpocket and a young woman in love. Their paths cross amid pain, hope and unexpected change, revealing deep human struggles.
The film’s sound is defined by Rahman’s background music. The music becomes the voice of the story and shapes the mood of every scene. This makes Gandhi Talks feel fresh and emotional, even without speech.
Gandhi Talks is set to release in theatres on 30 January 2026, chosen to coincide with Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary. It is one of Vijay Sethupathi’s most awaited films this year. The makers have not yet confirmed which OTT platform will stream the movie after its theatre run.
