Google Cloud and Palo Alto Networks have expanded their long-term partnership with a contract approaching $10 billion, marking the biggest security services agreement in Google Cloud history. The deal will span several years, with Palo Alto committing to pay the large sum to Google Cloud for advanced cloud and AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. It signals strong demand for security tools as businesses adopt artificial intelligence and face rising cyberthreats.
Part of the investment will help migrate Palo Alto’s existing services onto the Google Cloud platform. A significant portion will also go toward developing new AI security offerings tailored for enterprise clients. According to executives, the contract shows how AI is reshaping cybersecurity and pushing companies to build stronger protections around data and cloud systems.
This agreement strengthens Google Cloud’s position against major competitors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure in the cloud market. Both firms have previously invested heavily in cloud and security tech, including Google’s pending acquisition of Wiz and Palo Alto’s own software expansions.
The multi-year deal also reflects broader trends in cloud computing, where cybersecurity and AI services are becoming key differentiators for large tech providers.
