Union Minister Pemmasani Sekhar has called for streamlined coordination among central and state agencies to ensure the timely execution of key railway and housing projects in Guntur district. Speaking at a recent review meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of efficient planning, land acquisition, and departmental synergy to accelerate infrastructure progress.

The proposed railway expansion is expected to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate faster movement of people and goods, and support economic activity across Guntur and surrounding districts. Similarly, the housing initiatives, aimed at providing affordable homes under central schemes, will cater to growing urban and semi-urban populations.

While the focus remains on Guntur, Minister Sekhar highlighted the spillover benefits such infrastructure brings to neighboring regions such as Kurnool. Improved transportation networks and housing facilities are likely to contribute to balanced regional development, reduce migration pressure on urban centers, and boost local employment.

The minister urged officials to maintain clear communication and address bottlenecks promptly. He reiterated that infrastructure is a cornerstone for economic transformation and stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring projects are people-centric, inclusive, and aligned with long-term development goals for Andhra Pradesh.
