Hindustan Power has inked a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to build a 435 MW DC solar PV plant in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. Awarded through a competitive bidding process in April 2025, the project aims to deliver clean and reliable energy to support the state’s ambitious target of reaching 22 GW renewable capacity by FY 2026‑27.
Ground-level operations have begun, including site development, community stakeholder coordination, and workforce mobilization. According to Chairman Ratul Puri, the company is committed to timely and seamless implementation. This initiative not only enhances Uttar Pradesh’s green energy infrastructure but also drives local employment and promotes sustainable economic growth in the region.
Hindustan Power continues its aggressive growth in renewable energy, targeting a 5 GW clean energy portfolio by 2028. This Lalitpur solar project is a vital component of that expansion strategy. With a secure off-take arrangement at a fixed tariff for 25 years, the scheme ensures long-term viability and contributes to India’s broader goal of clean energy transition.
By integrating sophisticated planning with robust project execution, Hindustan Power underscores its position as a key player in India’s solar power landscape while aligning with national renewable targets.
