South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that it will run 160 Holi special trains this year to help passengers during the busy Holi festival travel season. The move aims to give travellers better rail options and reduce crowding on regular trains as millions plan journeys before and after the festival. These special services will run in March from several stations in the SCR network to key destinations across India.
The SCR trains will connect cities such as Visakhapatnam, Patna, Rajkot, Solapur, Bilaspur, Danapur, and many others. Return services from major stations are also scheduled, offering travellers round-trip options during the peak Holi period. This planning comes as part of a larger national effort. Indian Railways is set to operate over 1,410 special trains this Holi, with the total expected to reach about 1,500 to meet high demand across the country.
