Hyderabad Metro commuters can now travel without carrying heavy bags — thanks to a new smart locker service launched across seven major stations. The smart lockers, provided by TUCKIT in partnership with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, allow passengers to store helmets, luggage, shopping bags, backpacks and more before boarding their trains.
The newly introduced “Scan & Store” lockers are up and running at Miyapur, Ameerpet, Punjagutta, LB Nagar, Uppal, Parade Ground and Hi-Tech City stations.
Using the lockers is quick and easy — commuters simply scan a QR code on the locker panel, select a locker size based on their items, and pay digitally for the duration they need. The entire process takes under thirty seconds.
Officials say this step is part of Hyderabad Metro’s evolving plan to make stations more user-friendly and utility-driven, helping commuters avoid carrying bulky items and making last-mile travel less stressful.
For daily riders or people heading out shopping or onward travel, the new locker system promises convenience and flexibility — travel light, store baggage safely, and pick it up on return, all inside the metro station.
