Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoisted the Indian tricolour at Delhi’s iconic Red Fort to celebrate the 79th Independence Day, marking his 12th consecutive Independence Day speech. The “Naya Bharat” theme underscored India’s determined march toward a developed nation by 2047. The ceremony included a traditional 21‑gun salute and a stirring address to the nation from the Fort’s historic ramparts.

Flower petals rained down from two Mi-17 helicopters, with one carrying the national flag and the other bearing a flag honoring Operation Sindoor — India’s decisive military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Special recognition was also paid to the bravery of armed forces involved in the operation.

Over 5,000 distinguished guests, including athletes, farmers, self‑help groups, innovators, and volunteers, attended the event, reflecting India’s diverse spectrum of achievements. NCC cadets and My Bharat volunteers formed the large-scale “Naya Bharat” logo at Gyanpath, symbolizing national unity and pride.

PM Modi’s message emphasized national security, development, and collective aspiration. The celebration blended grandeur with patriotic fervor — reinforcing national pride, honoring military valor, and projecting India’s future-ready vision under the stirring theme of “Naya Bharat.”
