Instagram and Facebook Reels can be dubbed automatically into five Indian languages — Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu — using Meta AI. The tool picks up the speaker’s original voice and tone, then recreates it in the new language so the result feels natural.
Along with voice dubbing, the update brings support for Indian scripts in the companion Edits app. Creators can use Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese fonts to add captions and stylised text, making their content more appealing and readable for native users.
These changes aim to help creators connect with a wider, multilingual audience inside India. For viewers, this means you can enjoy Reels in your own language even if the original was in another. The translation option remains optional — users can choose to watch in the original language or the dubbed version.
