In a high‑profile Mumbai roadshow, Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh presented his state as the next global investment hub to the Tata Group and other global majors. He urged Tata to explore opportunities in electric vehicles (EV) infrastructure, solar module manufacturing, and electronics units across Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh proposed that Tata Elxsi open a regional engineering centre in Visakhapatnam, leveraging the city’s strategic location. He emphasized that the Andhra Pradesh government offers investor‑friendly policies, plug‑and‑play infrastructure, and incentives to fast‑track approvals. His pitch highlighted that AP has the capacity and systems in place to support large green energy, electronics, and manufacturing projects.
Beyond Tata, Lokesh engaged with global firms in ports, logistics, real estate, and clean energy, asking them to consider industrial parks near Kakinada and Visakhapatnam. He also suggested that Tata participate in rooftop solar deployment. The roadshow came ahead of the upcoming CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, to be held on November 14–15. With this push, Andhra Pradesh aims to emerge as a world‑class investment destination for global majors across technology, renewables, and manufacturing.
