The sacred Indrakeeladri Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada has opened applications from August 18 for a free mass Varalakshmi Vratham event slated for August 22, a significant Shravanam Friday. Organized on the temple’s sixth floor (Mallikarjuna Maha Mandapam), the mass Vratam will be conducted in two sessions—from 7 AM to 9 AM and 10 AM to 11:30 AM—and is completely free of cost.
Participants will receive prasadam kits, including saffron, a traditional cloth jacket, bangles, laddus, and a shakti bracelet, fostering both spiritual and cultural engagement. Only one application per woman is permitted, and these must be submitted through the temple’s toll‑free counter starting August 18.
This initiative reflects the temple’s commitment to enabling broader access to religious traditions by minimizing financial barriers.
