During the ongoing Devi Sharannavarathri Utsavams, Kurnool’s District Collector Dr G. Srijana presented silk clothes (pattu vastrams) to Goddess Jogulamba at Sri Bala Brahmeswara Swamy temple in Alampur, Telangana. The symbolic offering was conducted on Mula Nakshatram day, as part of temple festivities and rituals. Temple authorities welcomed the Collector and her entourage with the customary Purnakumbham ceremony.
Speaking to media, Dr Srijana said the offering of silk robes was made on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government, honoring tradition and strengthening cultural ties across the states. She and her family also participated in Kalyanamahotsavam rituals, special prayers, and Abhishekam of the presiding deities. Senior temple officials including the Chairman Chinni Krishna, Executive Officer Purendar Kumar and Endowments department Assistant Commissioner Ramanjaneyulu accompanied the Collector.
This ceremonial act underscores the deep religious significance of Jogulamba Bala Brahmeswara Swamy temple, attracting devotees during Navaratri. It also reflects the government’s supportive gesture toward temple traditions and cross‑state cultural integration. The presentation of silk robes to deities remains a revered practice during festival occasions across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
