Vikrant Patil has recently assumed charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kurnool district, formally pledging his commitment to crime prevention, public safety, and technology-driven policing. He has outlined a comprehensive strategy focused on maintaining law and order, particularly in areas vulnerable to anti-social elements and factional disputes.
Patil emphasized that protecting women and children is a key priority, stressing zero tolerance for related offenses. The SP underscored plans to intensify efforts against cybercrime, warning of strong legal action and the launch of digital literacy campaigns in schools and colleges to educate youth about online threats.
Central to his approach is visible policing, increasing patrols, and ensuring responsive policing across communities. Awareness initiatives and citizen engagement will complement stronger enforcement. With support from Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen and local administration, the SP aims to swiftly identify and bind disorderly elements, restore public trust, and improve conviction rates in criminal cases.
In today’s technological era, Patil plans to utilize CCTV surveillance, mobile patrol units, and cyber forensics to track crimes effectively. Public education campaigns will also involve media, educators, and women police officers to spread awareness on preventing fraud, cyber scams, and safety best practices.
