The strategic infrastructure upgrade on the Kurnool to Mandlem stretch of National Highway 340C has been successfully completed, marking a major milestone in regional road development. The project spans 31 kilometers, transforming the existing road into a four-lane highway with paved shoulders, significantly improving travel safety and traffic capacity.
With a substantial investment of ₹858 crore, the highway upgrade includes the construction of one major flyover, four viaducts, three local underpasses, and one minor underpass, enhancing both urban and rural connectivity. This development is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Kurnool and Mandlem, while also boosting local economies and easing freight transport.
The NH-340C expansion plays a vital role in supporting Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure roadmap, particularly in the Kurnool district, which serves as a crucial transportation hub in southern India. The improved Kurnool highway infrastructure will benefit daily commuters, inter-district travelers, and commercial logistics operators alike.
This highway modernization reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing national highway networks, ensuring smoother, safer, and more efficient road transportation. The Mandlem to Kurnool road upgrade also opens new opportunities for tourism, trade, and regional development.
