L&T Energy GreenTech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has been awarded the contract to develop India’s largest green hydrogen plant at the Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOCL) Panipat Refinery in Haryana. The plant is designed to produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, utilizing renewable energy sources, thereby supporting IOCL’s transition towards cleaner operations. This initiative aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to promote sustainable and clean energy solutions. The project underscores the growing role of green hydrogen in industrial applications and highlights India’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy security. The plant is expected to play a pivotal role in IOCL’s decarbonization strategy, contributing to the country’s broader efforts to achieve a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.
