Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured major grid infrastructure contracts across the Middle East, boosting its role in power transmission and distribution. The company’s PT&D division will build a 400 kV substation in the UAE, which is central to upgrading the existing electricity link with Oman from 220 kV to 400 kV. This upgrade strengthens the super‑grid interconnection across GCC countries and improves grid resilience and utilization of power generation.
In addition, L&T has won orders for multiple 132 kV substations across the region to keep up with rising electricity demand. In Saudi Arabia, the contracts include the full turnkey construction of 380 kV overhead transmission lines that will help integrate renewable energy plants into the national grid.
These deals are categorized as “large orders” by L&T, with values between ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore. The contracts reflect the region’s push for modern, resilient power systems and L&T’s growing footprint in the global energy infrastructure sector.
