Actor Mahesh Babu is undergoing intense physical training to play the role of Lord Ram in director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi. He revealed that learning Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art, completely changed the way he stands and moves. This training helped him adopt a strong, regal posture needed for the divine character.
Mahesh said Rajamouli focused on every detail of his physical presence. The actor didn’t just prepare in the gym. He spent months training his body to be more balanced and controlled. He worked with posture classes and learned how to walk and stand like Lord Ram would. He even changed his running style by training with a track and field team for six months, even though only a few running shots appear in the film.
The actor described how this long preparation helped his body open up and become more flexible. He said this deep training made it easier to step into the epic character with confidence. Mahesh also talked about enjoying the process and not seeing it as hard work. He believes every part of the physical prep was worth it as it helps him bring authenticity to the role in Varanasi, one of his most challenging projects yet.
