In a landmark event held in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu distributed appointment letters to 15,941 newly recruited teachers, completing one of the state’s largest and most transparent recruitment drives under Mega DSC 2025. The process filled over 97 % of the notified 16,347 posts across various departments and school categories.
Naidu used the occasion to affirm a key policy shift: the DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment process will now be conducted on an annual basis, guaranteeing timely teacher appointments rather than sporadic drives. He urged aspiring educators to maintain readiness for future recruitments, emphasising that his first official act in office was signing the DSC notification file.
The selection adhered strictly to merit principles—allocating 20 % weight to TET scores and 80 % to the DSC computer‑based test, with no interviews involved. Reservation norms, including SC sub‑categorisation and horizontal quotas, were fully observed.
HRD Minister Nara Lokesh credited the recruitment to rigorous planning, fast execution, and grievance resolution across over 100 court challenges. New teachers are slated to report starting October 2025. The state now aims to strengthen the quality of public education by ensuring consistent teacher inflows through this annualised DSC model.
