Hyderabad has unveiled a new parallel Road‑Over‑Bridge (ROB) at Falaknuma to tackle severe traffic congestion in the Old City. The bridge spans 360 metres and includes four lanes, built at a cost of Rs 52.03 crore.

Constructed along the Secunderabad–Falaknuma broad gauge line, the project took about four years to complete, involving coordination between GHMC, rail authorities, and utility agencies. The new structure runs parallel to the existing, older ROB, which had become a major bottleneck due to rising vehicular traffic. The Hans India+2Telangana Today+2

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, in charge of Hyderabad, inaugurated the bridge. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi and local MLAs also attended the ceremony. The bridge connects key locations: Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma Bus Depot, Barkas Junction, and Charminar, among others.

Commuters and local businesses welcomed the development. They expect it to significantly ease traffic snarls on the stretch, save travel time, and bring smoother mobility across one of the busiest corridors in Hyderabad’s Old City.
