OpenAI-Nvidia Megadeal Still in Limbo: $100 B Agreement Not Signed Yet

Nvidia has said that its proposed US$ 100 billion investment in OpenAI is still incomplete. During the UBS Global Technology and AI Conference, Nvidia’s CFO Colette Kress confirmed that the agreement remains at the “letter of intent” stage.

The plan between Nvidia and OpenAI would deploy at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems for OpenAI’s AI infrastructure. If completed, the investment could power a huge build-out of data centers supporting advanced AI workloads.

Despite prior announcements and industry hype, the final contract has not been signed. Nvidia clarified that the chips which might be supplied under this arrangement are not part of its existing US$ 500 billion bookings for chip sales through 2026.

The announcement reshapes expectations: though the partnership remains a headline-grabbing possibility, the deal still faces uncertainty. Nvidia and OpenAI continue discussions — but until everything is finalized, the scope and timing of the investment remain unclear.
