The Kailasa Vahana Seva was a highlight of the Sankranti Brahmotsavams at Srisailam Temple, showcasing the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. On the fifth day of the week-long festival, the presiding deities, Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba, were ceremoniously seated on the Kailasa Vahanam at the Akka Maha Devi Alankara Mandapam. The event commenced with special prayers dedicated to the deities, followed by Chandeeswara Puja, Rudra Parayanam, Chaturveda Parayanam, and Mandaparadhana, all performed in adherence to the Agama Sastras. Subsequently, Panchavarnarchana and Rudra Homam were conducted, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the temple. The evening saw the deities taken in a procession along the temple’s Mada streets, accompanied by traditional performances such as Haridasu, Sankam, Damarukam, Kolatam, Chekka Bhajana, and Chakka Bhajana, adding to the festive spirit. The rituals culminated with the Prakarotsavam, a temple courtyard festival, further deepening the devotees’ connection to the divine. These events underscore the temple’s commitment to preserving and promoting its ancient traditions.
