The Andhra Pradesh State Police (APSP) is organising a solemn “Smriti Parade” at its 6th Battalion in Mangalagiri on 21 October 2025, starting at 7:30 a.m.. This parade will honour police and paramilitary personnel who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. A two‑minute silence will kick off the ceremony, followed by a march‑past and other formal tributes.
The date—21 October—is observed nationwide as the Police Commemoration Day, remembering the brave ≈10 members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who died in the Ladakh Hot Springs incident in 1959. Across Andhra Pradesh, district police forces will be holding parallel events, exhibitions, and outreach programmes to engage families of martyrs and the local community.
With this year’s parade, the APSP aims to reinforce public awareness of the sacrifices made by law‑enforcement officers and strengthen morale within the force. Senior officials will lay wreaths, read the names of fallen personnel, and meet next‑of‑kin of those who gave their lives. The event is both a mark of respect and a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by front‑line police.
