Temple authorities at Srisailam Kshetram have launched a meticulous beautification programme for Shikaram, the rocky ascent leading up to the sacred shrine. Under guidance from the Executive Officer of Srisailam Devasthanam, officials will focus on infrastructure improvements, greenery enhancement, and enhanced comfort for pilgrims. Central efforts include planting at least 3,000 saplings, with a mix of shade-providing, fruit-bearing, and ritual-use tree species like bilva, along the walkway, parking zones, and open spaces .
The upgrades will feature fully renovated walkways, strategically placed seating areas, canopies for shade, ambient lighting, and upgraded fencing to ensure both safety and aesthetics. Pathways will be repaired, gardens rejuvenated, and traditional children’s play zones with cultural replicas added to engage younger visitors. In front of Ekashila Rudra Deva idol, a stone Nandi statue is also planned for installation. Alongside these enhancements, authorities will ensure high hygiene standards at the temple gosala and annaprasadam counters by improving sanitation and food quality. The efforts aim to transform Shikaram into a serene, accessible, and picturesque pilgrimage path—enhancing the spiritual and physical experience of devotees visiting the Srisailam temple.
