Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revealed plans to add 5,000 new jobs in the UK during the next three years. This bold move is linked to its new AI Experience Zone and Design Studio in London. The facilities aim to drive innovation and deepen collaboration with clients.
This announcement comes just after significant global job cuts. TCS reportedly reduced its headcount by nearly 20,000 employees through attrition and restructuring. The cuts spanned multiple regions and levels. TCS has described the reduction as part of a strategic shift toward skills that match evolving business needs.
Despite the global downsizing, the UK expansion signals that TCS sees the British market as a key growth area. The company already supports over 42,000 jobs in the UK and in FY2024 contributed £3.3 billion to the UK economy. The new AI hub in London will join TCS’s network of innovation centres, complementing the PacePort portfolio and the New York Design Studio.
TCS leadership says the UK will remain a core market. The new jobs will cover roles in AI, engineering, design, analytics, and tech development. The move illustrates TCS’s dual strategy: streamline global operations while strengthening regional investment and capability in strategic markets.
