The Sikh community in Telangana celebrated the 359th Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth and last Sikh Guru and founder of the Khalsa Panth, with deep devotion and joy. The main event was held at the Central Gurudwara Saheb in Gowliguda, Hyderabad, where devotees gathered early in the morning.
The programme began with a Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation) in front of the gurudwara. Many people, including followers of other faiths, joined the prayers. Ragi jathas — religious singers — recited Gurbani keertans and delivered sermons. They spoke on Guru Gobind Singh’s life, courage, and his teachings of peace, equality, service, and justice. The messages urged people to live with compassion and respect for all.
The event ran from morning until afternoon and brought together community members of all ages. After the prayers, the traditional Guru Ka Langar (free community meal) was served to everyone. This service symbolised unity, equality, and selfless service — key values of Sikh faith. The celebration closed with shared prayers and a strong spirit of harmony.
