Telangana is under a cold wave alert as the India Meteorological Department forecasts a sharp drop in temperatures on December 15. The weather office has warned that four districts — Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal — will see severe cold wave conditions with night temperatures well below normal.
Minimum temperatures are expected to remain low, and dry weather will keep the chill strong through the night and early morning. Earlier forecasts showed that several other parts of Telangana have also seen a steady fall in temperatures this winter, with some places already recording single-digit lows.
Officials have urged residents to take precautions. People should wear warm clothes, especially children, older adults, and outdoor workers. Cold weather can raise health risks like coughs, colds, and flu, so staying indoors during peak chill hours is advised. Schools and families are also warned to keep vulnerable people safe.
The cold spell comes amid a broader winter pattern in central and southern India. Light fog and prolonged chill may continue for the next few days, and locals should stay updated on weather advisories to prepare for low temperatures and cold wind conditions.
