The Telangana government has issued a major order for all government offices, universities, corporations and related departments to move out of private buildings and relocate to government premises by December 31. The aim is to reduce the high cost of rent payments and better use existing government space. Officials must first check available government buildings and complete their office shifts before the deadline.

The Finance Department has directed all heads of departments to act quickly and finish relocation without delay. From January 1, 2026, the state will stop rent payments for offices in private buildings. Departments that ignore the order could face administrative action, including having to pay the rent themselves. The new policy is part of the state’s broader effort to cut wasteful spending and improve the use of public assets.

Many government buildings remain under-used in Hyderabad and other district headquarters, where space is enough to accommodate offices. Officials are urged to move staff, equipment and records to government buildings soon. This step aims to save money, improve efficiency and strengthen public sector asset use across Telangana. #TelanganaGovernment #OfficeRelocation #GovernmentBuildings #PublicSectorReform
