Telangana is experiencing unusual weather swings this season. During the year, many parts of the state saw high temperatures near 45°C, which was one of the hottest spells. Later, winter brought a strong cold wave with minimum temperatures dropping drastically. In several districts, night temperatures fell into single digits, making it one of the coldest periods in years.
The coldest places in the state recorded just around 5°C or slightly above, especially in northern districts like Sangareddy and nearby rural areas. In many places, the mercury dipped below 10°C, affecting daily life, travel and farming. Dense fog was also reported in some regions in the early morning hours.
Experts say such sharp temperature changes show how extreme weather can vary within a single year. High daytime heat earlier in the year made summer conditions tough, and now the night chill is testing people’s ability to cope with winter cold. Weather officials advise residents to take precautions — wear warm clothes at night and be alert for sudden weather shifts.
