Telangana is facing a severe cold wave alert as temperatures fall across many districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for cold conditions expected to last up to December 12. Forecasters say minimum temperatures may go 3–4°C below normal, bringing unusually cold nights across the state.
In recent days, several areas have recorded very low temperatures. Asifabad, in northern Telangana, saw one of the lowest readings, showing how deep the cold has become. Other nearby districts are also reporting chilly early mornings as cold winds push temperatures down.
The IMD has highlighted that clear skies and dry winds are helping the mercury drop faster than usual. Many districts are now on alert, and officials are urging people to keep warm, especially children, the elderly, and those with health issues. Some parts of Hyderabad and surrounding areas are also expected to see colder nights in the coming days.
This cold spell comes early in the winter season and could affect daily life. People are advised to wear warm clothes at night, cover exposed skin, and stay indoors when possible to avoid health issues like coughs and fever
