Bharti Airtel’s digital arm, Xtelify, launched Airtel Cloud on August 4, 2025—a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform built and hosted entirely in India for maximum data sovereignty and regulatory compliance. Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and MD of Airtel, emphasized that the platform is now a “real proposition” for enterprise customers, leveraging six years of experience running Airtel’s own workloads internally. According to Vittal, Airtel Cloud can deliver up to 40% savings in cloud spending by bundling network connectivity with cloud services—a unique value in the Indian cloud market
Hosted on next-gen sustainable data centers and managed by over 300 certified cloud experts, Airtel Cloud provides IaaS, PaaS, and advanced connectivity, with features like secure migration, effortless scalability, and no vendor lock-in Initially developed to handle 140 crore transactions per minute for Airtel’s own internal needs, the platform is now available for Indian enterprises and regulated sectors such as banking and insurance
Alongside its cloud offering, Xtelify launched an AI-powered software suite—including tools like Data Engine, Workforce, Serve, and IQ—to help telecom operators worldwide improve customer journey, reduce churn, enhance insights, and raise average revenue per user (ARPU). Early clients include Singtel (Singapore), Globe Telecom (Philippines), and Airtel Africa across 14 countries Xtelify’s strategy positions Airtel as a formidable competitor in India’s cloud market, competing with global giants like AWS, Microsoft, and Google by focusing on cost‑effective, sovereign solutions with built‑in connectivity.
